Doctrine is central to the Christian faith. Without it the Christian faith cannot exist in essence.  The Bible says the early church continued steadfastly "in the Apostles' doctrines..." We are in a time when we have to continue in the Apostles doctrine more than ever. And for Christian leaders the LORD admonishes us all to be "able to teach." (1st Tim. 3:2) and also to "speak the things which are  proper for sound doctrine." (Titus 2:2). There is no alternative to doctrine.
